Numbers 14:10b-24: This passage follows the story about the Israelites spies going into Canaan, and everyone but Joshua & Caleb, thought the people were too strong to overcome. So the congregation said let's go back to Egypt. God says, what's wrong with these people. I will strike them down. But Moses said, forgive them, because if you strike them down, people will think you couldn't give them victory. So God said I will forgive them but none of the old ones who saw my glory at Sinai will see the Promised land. They will die in the desert except for Caleb and Joshua.
1st Corinthians 10:1-13: Paul recounts Israel's struggles in the desert. He says don't be like them. Trust in God. You will not be tested beyond your strength and God will provide a way out. ..... I never look at bad happenings as tests. I look at it as Gravity and bad decisions. As for a way out, you either die or keep on keeping on.
