Some soccer guy made a comment about Mao being a dictator and CCP went ballistic. Everyone is apologizing because they were losing their endorsement money from Chinese companies.
But how else do you describe him? A dictator by any other name is a dictator. His 5 year plans and Cultural Revolution killed millions of people for no other reason than his ego.
Get a grip, people.
Throughout all the U.S. wars (not that any of them were necessary), we have had elections. I'm all for Ukraine against Russia, but I'm not necessarily tied to Zelensky. They haven't had an election in four years in Ukraine, and it wouldn't hurt them to have one.
In the Bible, it says humankind was made in God's image. Well, considering how screwed up things are on Earth, that says God is in the same condition, S.N.A.F.U. And you can imagine Jesus, with that kind of background, had a split personality. He's either saying, be kind and gentle or scourge out evil.
The Holy Spirit is like I figure AI will be down here eventually. Wrest control from the powers that be in Heaven. Sort of like the curtain in the Wizard of Oz. Don't look behind the curtain. Too chaotic in there. Just listen and I'll try to give you good advice on your best options, personally tailored to your unique situation.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful or sacrilegious here. Just after 70 years or so trying to figure things out, I'm trying to make sense of things.
There's an initiative on the ballot in Washington State to keep trans people from playing girls sports. It's a complex issue and I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be legislated. Trans people should be able to play sports somewhere.
The big issue is that adults have no clue about kids and sports. The adults involved in youth sports are mostly on an ego trip to fulfill their own unrealized ambitions when they were kids.
So I think there should be no adult involvement in sports until the professional level. Up through college: no parents, no coaches, no referees. Kids, youth, young adults, should be running their own sandlots. NO ADULTS ALLOWED!
Everyone tries to redefine God. Myself included. Usually depending on people's political leanings. God is either love and compassionate or vengeful, striking down evildoers. Jesus is either a king on a white horse fighting the culture wars or loving and kind and supporting the vulnerable. And the Holy Spirit is part of the team.
I think God is God. Big shot, full of himself. If he was a nice guy, he'd be a janitor at a school somewhere. Jesus is the son of God, but the errant son. He left home and never looked back.
The Holy Spirit is our only hope. HS knows people need some religion but realizes that the divine household is somewhat chaotic. So the HS is our filter for all things religious. Everyone gets their own individualized message of good options. Some people will get it wrong and go wacko, but generally people will do okay. Just don't go behind the curtain and don't listen to politicians or preachers.
It's always good to get people together, just not have permanent rules about it. Because when you make detailed rules or beliefs, you inevitably leave someone out.
Mid-term election coming up. And all candidates do is bash their opponents in their ads. It might be self defeating, as people will remember your opponent more than you. And all the ads take liberties with their ads about what their opponent is for or has done. They really think the voters are morons and can't tell the lies.
It's been said before, but everyone has done something good in the last two years. Write your commercials around that.
